THE PROBLEM TO SOLVE
This CBD skin-care line was in need of an image that would attract a mainstream audience. The previous Mermaid Wizdom logo had included a “pot leaf”, which could be deemed unfriendly to some.
Budd Branding was recommended to step in and give the line a new image that would be attractive to a non-cannabis using customer. The solution was to remove usage of a cannabis leaf, and established a well-read friendly logo for all types of consumers.
An entirely new logo was created as this brand has expanded distribution into high-end spas hosting a more sophisticated consumer. Consumers in these locations are most likely not familiar with the previous brand image and label design, therefore we did not retain elements from the previous logo.
Distribution has significantly increased with the new brand identity, featuring the sophisticated subtle “fish-scale” design. It is making a positive splash in retail sales for the entire line of CBD infused skin-care products.

My brand “Mermaid Wisdom” was about to make a change and begin distribution in mainstream spas and boutiques. It was important to develop a new look that would no longer have a cannabis leaf in the design, and I wanted something clean and easy to read, but with some representation of a mermaid included.
Wendy Rall at Budd Brandning hit the nail on the head in the first design presentation. She then carried the new look through our package and marketing materials, and we now have a professional image that is helping us increase sales by expanding into new locations.
